Sheila Keino is a seasoned leader and manager in African agriculture, boasting a wealth of experience garnered from her diverse roles across the continent. With over twelve years of hands-on field experience, she has been at the forefront of various organizations and programs, showcasing a steadfast dedication to propelling agricultural development forward. Currently serving as the Vice President of Development Cooperation at AFAP, Sheila also holds the position of Regional Manager for Sustain Africa in East and Southern Africa.
In her capacity, Sheila has spearheaded the development and implementation of initiatives spanning numerous countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Madagascar, Mozambique, Burundi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Her tenure as both Malawi Country Director and Regional Director for AFAP has been marked by her adeptness in establishing and leading all facets of the organization’s operations in Malawi, encompassing program management, resource mobilization, partnerships, and operational efficiency.
Furthermore, Sheila has undertaken the role of Programme Director for various projects aimed at bolstering productivity among smallholder farmers in Malawi. Her extensive professional journey extends across renowned organizations such as the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the World Agroforestry Centre.
