Dr. Paul Kipronoh Ronoh is the Principal Secretary in Kenya’s State Department for Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. With a rich career background, including roles as the Principal Secretary for Water and Sanitation and CEO of the ICT Authority, Dr. Ronoh combines leadership, governance, and technology expertise. He holds a PhD in Leadership and Governance, an MBA, and a BSc in Computer Science, and is affiliated with organizations like the Harvard Leaders Excellence Alumni Network and the Computer Society of Kenya. Dr. Ronoh oversees agricultural policy, administration, and the activities of 22 state agencies.
He is spearheading transformative initiatives aligned with Kenya Vision 2030, the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and global Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of zero hunger by 2030. He manages 18 national projects funded by the government and development partners, covering all counties. Focused on ICT in agriculture, youth, gender, and empowerment, his achievements include launching key policies, registering 6.45 million farmers, and developing the Agricultural Data Governance Framework. He has advanced national value chains for crops like maize and tea and led initiatives such as tree-planting campaigns and food security exhibitions, contributing significantly to Kenya’s agricultural transformation and socio-economic growth.
