Dr. Hailemariam Ayalew Tiruneh

Dr. Hailemariam Ayalew Tiruneh is a Research Fellow in the Development Strategy and Governance Unit at IFPRI. His research focuses on the microeconomics of development and impact evaluations of policy interventions on smallholder farmers. He previously served as Assistant Professor at Oxford University and was a Marie-Curie postdoctoral fellow with CIMMYT and Trinity College Dublin. He holds a Ph.D. and MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen. He has also been a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley’s EASST program and worked with the World Bank and DAI Global as a consultant.
