Brenda Mareri

Brenda is works as the Senior Manager Food Systems Portfolio at Wasafiri as well as the Kenya Country Lead for the African Food Fellowship (AFF). She has expertise in Policy Advocacy, Value Chain development, Food Safety systems, Integrated Livestock management and Seed Systems. She holds Bachelor of Science in Plant Biotechnology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Master of Environmental Science from Kenyatta University, Kenya. She has vast experience working in various regions such as Great Lakes Africa regions, Southern Africa and parts of Asia focusing on research, education and farmer support systems to improve their farming techniques to subsequently combat hunger, poverty and improve human health. Among her past employers and working partners include Sysbiotech, CTTBD-Malawi, GALVMED, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and One Acre Fund, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation and CIAT-Harvestplus.
